Val Di Luce

The famous Valley of Light in the past was known as the Valley of Pozze dominated from the three Powers. The richness of this mountain is given by the water which create pools from which the ancient name of the valley, namely small ponds during the winter ghiacciano. In 1935 the land was purchased by Lapo Farinati, the first Podestà who impossessò Municipal dell'Abetone. The area was designed again to turn it into a major tourist center that interested the whole valley. Farinati presented his project that included the construction of a five-star hotel, composed of many tracks and lifts, a lake for ice skating, and even a racetrack and a car circuit. Construction of the project began in the summer of 1935 but were interrupted by the outbreak of the Second War Mondiala, no longer be taken.
